Valley Fest 2020 continued on this year amidst waning pandemic of the year. Having entered Phase 4 in the region’s reopening plan and with some new guidelines in place the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce moved ahead with holding the annual event.
As always the weekend was filled with vendor sales, merchant sales, kid events and food. What was different was a decrease in the number of vendors allowed to attend, extra walking areas on Main Street to help with distancing and no group events. The Annual car show was moved to the Fall month;, and the zoo mobile, kids games, ice cream eating contest, free movie and family night with band were tabled for next year.
This year’s ValleyFest did add a bike parade for kids of all ages. Children came through Liberty Way with decorated bikes and received a reusable bag with different craft and activities to work on at home. “We felt it important to continue to reach out to children and give them a fun and safe event during Valley Fest and this was the best way to do it” said Chamber President Tami Treutlein. “We had 20 kids participate and it went over so well we may bring it back for next year!” Overall Valley fest was deemed a huge success by vendors, local charities that set up food stations and attendees.
